This year, the theme is "Energy Security v Tackling Climate Change", with a focus on post COP26 findings, the energy crisis in Europe, renewable energy and climate change - as the entire world moves towards a more sustainable future under challenging circumstances.
The central themes, which will be covered on the day include: tackling climate change and climate change anxiety; renewable energy; greener spaces; sustainable tourism; skills; immigration and collaboration.
The Highlands and Islands in particular are well placed to play a significant role in delivering solutions which could be exported to the world. We’ll hear from our line-up of speakers about what is being done already and what can be done in the future. Our speakers include leading figures from NatureScot and Avaaz Foundation, as well as specialists from Harper Macleod. Lots of small steps and changes will contribute to a more sustainable future - SHREC 2022 can be one of those small steps.
Please note that the event will open 30 mins before the scheduled start time to allow for networking, the conference will run from 12pm to approximately 3.40pm, there will then be a pause before we meet back for the Awards at 6.30pm.
